After a breakfast of sandwiches from the downstairs convenience store, we lined up for Early Entry at Tokyo Disneyland. Once the gates opened, we fought the urge to take everything in as we rushed to the highest-rated ride at Tokyo Disneyland: Pooh's Hunny Hunt. The amazing trackless vehicles dance around each other and provide some surprises that you'll just have to experience for yourself some day. After riding it, we understood its popularity. The Fast Pass line ends up longer than any line I've ever seen at Disneyland or Walt Disney World.
Then it was on to my favorites: Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion. Space Mountain was great, but I'd have to put it as third compared to DL (smoother ride and great soundtrack) and WDW (the classic and more fun toboggan style). Though TDL does have the best Space Port. Their Haunted Mansion does seem better detailed, especially the graveyard scene, and it's fun hearing it all in Japanese. They don't have the floating crystal ball yet.
We snacked on curry popcorn as we headed to the railroad, which is just a ride, not transportation. Then real curry at the Hungry Bear Restaurant before the Country Bear Jamboree and The Mickey Mouse Review, which had a great original pre-show from the '70s with funky music and the classic WDW logo. The show itself was a great classic that we never saw when it was at the World.
Next was Thunder Mountain (awesome) and Tom Sawyer Island, where we took our time and wandered before going back to the mainland and using our Haunted Mansion Fast Pass. Then back to Tomorrowland for a Space Mountain Fast Pass. Since we were there, we decided to visit Star Tours. I really don't like the shake-'em-up ride that it is, but it's Star Wars, and I wanted to see the queue. Definitely better than WDW, but the ride is just as lame.
Over to Adventureland for the Tiki Room with Stitch. The building is surprisingly bigger than DL or WDW, and the show itself is more Hawaiian-themed than the others. Stitch is very popular here. Can't blame 'em. Then Pirates of the Caribbean before going back to the hotel to add our base layers for the quickly dropping temperature.
Back at the park, we tried our luck at the lottery for seats at the castle show. No luck. We visited Toon Town for a pizza spring roll before touring the area, which is better than DL. We rode It's a Small World on our way to check our restaurants in Critter Country and Adventureland before settling on burgers at Tomorrowland Terrace. After using our Space Mountain Fast Pass, we decided we'd done enough for the day and headed back to the hotel. As we looked at the time, we realized we were only leaving 30 minutes before closing, but that's still early for us.
We picked up sandwiches for tomorrow's breakfast and are currently waiting to finish laundry so we can get to bed and do it again.
