Saying Sayounara

Since we'd done most of our packing on Tuesday and our ride to the airport wasn't until 10:37, we took advantage of the one day left on our current monorail pass to make two final rounds on the Disney Resort Line. Then it was back to the MiraCosta to look out the windows into DisneySea and grab our bags to check out.
We were lucky that the airport express bus only stopped at the Ambassador before picking us up. This meant we got to make a final loop around the resort on the outermost road as we stopped at all the other hotels. We said our final goodbyes to Tokyo Disney Resort and hit the road for the Narita Airport.
As we approached, we saw the Holiday Inn we'd stayed at the night we arrived. It seemed like ages ago, not the mere two weeks that it had been.
We were starving by the time we arrived at Narita and were pleased to find a great assortment of foods at the Northwest WorldClub (a perk or our Business Class tickets, thanks to Brock's numerous NWA points). They had sandwiches, sushi and soba noodles, which I never got around to having in Tokyo. We feasted and enjoyed some wine before boarding the plane.
We'd booked early, and on the flight over and back, we were in the upstairs portion of Business Class, which made it feel like we were on a small vessel rather than the behemoth that the 747 actually is. On the voyage to Japan, we took a walk through coach to see the full expanse of the plane. We didn't this time: I wanted to keep the feeling of a small special cabin hurtling over the Pacific.
The flight went quickly thanks to a movie, a great conversation with our flight attendant Linda—who I wished I had more time to chat with—and the short nap I later took. The seats were incredibly comfortable and the food was great. We figured the food was better on the trip back because it all came from Japan.
When we arrived in Detroit, immigration and customs were just as quick coming into the U.S. as they were going out of Japan. We made our way to the WorldClub, and I proceeded to begin this post in case I was too exhausted when we got to Nashville.
A quick flight and a taxi ride later, we were home. We found Cid hiding, and he gave us his I'm-mad-at-you meow. After about three hours, he figured he'd made us pay enough, and he came out to forgive us and let us pet him.
It was an amazing trip, and I'm glad everyone had a chance to experience it with us (thanks to the Internet connection included in the exorbitant room prices). It was long enough that we didn't leave Japan wishing we'd had more time.
Of course, we now want to go back and experience more of the country (as well as return to Tokyo Disney Resort!), but it will be quite some time before that's in the budget.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled one-a-day photo blog. Please remain seated until this post has come to a complete stop.
