Today was our second free day, so we spent our time taking pictures around the resort. This involved a good portion of time riding around on the monorail. It's an official transportation line like the private railways throughout Japan, and unlike the monorails in the U.S. parks, it's a paid service.
If you stay at either of the two hotels with a station (Tokyo Disneyland Hotel or the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta), you receive a pass for your duration. We didn't use the four-day passes we were given at TDH until our third day here at the resort, so they were still good today.
It took us a few complete rounds on the line to work our way to the front seats, and then we rode around several more times taking pictures. (I've arranged the shots from the monorail to fit a virtual ride around. One special shot is of the monorail wash.)
Even though we didn't set foot in either of the parks today, between the time spent on the monorail, outside the gates and in the hotels, we had a fulfilling Disney day.
We only took a few outside shots of the MiraCosta because we didn't want to experience that hotel until we check in tomorrow.
